Kawan Lama Group, a major Indonesian conglomerate with hundreds of retail stores like ANKO (re-branded from ACE Hardware) and Informa, operates a large and complex salesforce. To drive performance and improve operational efficiency, I contributed to the design and implementation of a Sales Incentive Dashboard, built to solve the key challenges of managing diverse commission structures by providing real-time performance tracking for salespeople and delivering actionable business insights for management.
Challenges
Joining the project in its second phase, my primary responsibility was to translate complex business requirements from the Project Manager into a complete, end-to-end design for the dashboard. On this case, I covered the end-to-end design for several core features: a main dashboard for viewing achievements and incentives, a module for managing status achievements, detailed summary achievement reports, and a complete dispute workflow.
The project environment presented significant challenges, including navigating bureaucratic delays with a third-party vendor and adapting to frequently evolving client requirements. Despite these complexities, my core mission was to bring clarity and cohesion to the user experience.
Goals
To achieve this, my design solution was focused on three strategic pillars:
Simplifying the User Journey: I designed intuitive, streamlined flows for both setting up incentives and viewing sales results, drastically reducing user effort.
Restructuring Complex Navigation: The existing information architecture was completely overhauled to create a more logical and user-friendly navigation system.
Consolidating Features: To minimize cognitive load, I strategically grouped multiple related features and actions under single, intuitive menu items, creating a cleaner and more efficient interface.
Sales Dashboard
I designed a comprehensive Sales Incentive Dashboard to provide clarity and motivation for their large salesforce, while also giving administrators powerful tools to manage complex incentive structures.
The platform features two distinct experiences:
A personalized dashboard for salespeople to track their target achievements and potential earnings
A robust administrative backend for managing the system's core logic

Status Achievement
Another key feature I designed is 'Status Achievement'. It's a key part of the administrative interface. It allows managers to precisely define the tiered rules and conditions that constitute sales success across the entire organization. The clean, data-driven design focuses on scalability and ease of use, ensuring that administrators can effortlessly create, manage, and monitor the incentive rules that power the entire platform.
Manage Human Error With Dispute
Recognizing that human error can occasionally occur in the complex process of sales data input and incentive calculation, I designed the 'Dispute' feature within the Kawan Lama Group Sales Incentive Dashboard. This module provides a clear and auditable workflow for sales representatives to report and resolve discrepancies in their earned incentives.
The interface shown allows users to view the status of all submitted disputes. The intuitive flow enables salespeople to assign their disputes to the appropriate manager or administrator for review. Administrators then have the power to either approve and adjust the incentive accordingly, ensuring accuracy and fairness, or send the dispute back to the sales representative with clear notes for further clarification or correction. This structured process ensures that all potential discrepancies are addressed efficiently, maintaining the integrity and trust within the incentive program.


Achievement Details: Regular, Project, and Project LC
While the main dashboard provides an overview of achievement and incentive, true transparency comes from the ability to drill down into the specifics of how incentives are calculated. The 'Detail MPP' (Manpower Program) screen I designed serves as this crucial deep-dive feature.
When a manager or team member wants to understand the 'why' behind a specific project's incentive, this is the screen they see. It breaks down a single project into its core components: financial summary (including Value Project, Gross Margin, and Total Incentives), a detailed list of all contributing sales orders, and most importantly, a clear breakdown of the 'bobot points' (weighting) and incentive percentages allocated to each team member. This level of detail demystifies the incentive process, building trust and clarity for everyone involved.



Summary
A key achievement on the Kawan Lama Group's Sales Incentive Dashboard was the successful design of a cohesive, end-to-end user experience from highly complex business requirements. Faced with challenges including intricate calculation logic, diverse user roles, and third-party vendor delays, my strategic focus was to create a unified platform founded on clarity, transparency, and efficiency.

Enhanced Transparency and Trust: Created detailed drill-down screens that demystified commission calculations, providing absolute clarity for managers and building trust among the sales team.
Streamlined Critical Workflows: Implemented a structured dispute management process that reduced the time and effort needed to resolve data discrepancies, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the program.
